Printing
It's WYSIWYG
WYSIWYG means that what you see (on screen) is what you get (from the printer). Your printed drawings are printed to the scale set in Design Intuition. This can come in handy when you notice you forgot to include a dimension in your design: Simply measure it with a ruler and convert it with some math, using the scale information included at the bottom of the drawing.
The Print Margin
Design Intuition also provides an optional print margin, in your choice of color. The print margin shows you where the printable boundaries of your drawing are, both on screen and on the printed drawing. Design Intuition asks the Macintosh Operating System for the page size corresponding to the printer you have selected.
The print margin also provides a handful of useful information about the drawing: scale, date, view. You can change the visibility of the print margin: When the print margin is visible, so are the document title, view, scale and current time. If you leave the print margin on while drawing, you'll always know how your design will look when printed.
The MacOS X Print Center
When you installed your printer, you added it to the Print Center. If you installed more than one printer, you have a choice of which one to use to print your drawings. Design Intuition will know when you change your printer settings.
Plotters, and other devices
If you have a plotter or some other device which you've installed and added to the Print Center, you can choose it as your output device. However, if you did not add it to the Print Center, and are using it through some special-purpose (application) software, Design Intuition won't be able to use it.
Troubleshooting
We cannot possibly test Design Intuition on all the printers available on the market today. If you are experiencing difficulties with your printer or other device, or if your printed drawing isn't to scale, please contact us, and we'll work with you as best we can.
