Copyright Your Designs

Fill in your full name here. Each time you save a file, a notice will be stored in the file declaring that you claim current copyright for it, that you are the author of the file. It's not the same as a digital signature (not yet, anyway), but it does provide a mechanism for you or others to track your files. For example, you might work with others at a small cabinetmaking company and want to track who last altered a file. Or you might send a plan to a manufacturer and they can easily figure out who sent them the file.

Contact GizmoLab Server

If the computer on which you are running Design Intuition isn't always connected to the internet, you can uncheck this checkbox. Normally, when Design Intuition starts, it asks the GizmoLab server if a new version of Design Intuition is available. If the computer isn't connected to the internet, this attempt to contact the server will not complete, which won't be a problem. However, some people requested that this contact attempt be an option.

PLEASE NOTE: If you uncheck this checkbox, and your activated license expires, Design Intuition won't be able to automatically upgrade your license activation if you've purchased an upgrade.

Object Snapping

Object Snapping is profoundly useful and tedium-saving. Design Intuition provides several places and mechanisms for enabling and disabling it. In the General Preferences, however, you can also adjust its strength and the color of the snap lines when are being snapped. The smaller the value of the grabbing power, the closer objects have to be to snap into place. The value also controls the size of the ellipses drawn during snapping, so that you don't have to look at the General Preferences to know how strong the snap grabbing power is. The default value of 13 means that when objects are as close as or closer than 13 pixels, they will snap together. You can change this to any number between 5 and 20, inclusive.

Dimensions

Whenever Design Intuition draws a new object, it supplies dimensions. The Default Distance to Dimension Lines was carefully chosen to be a reasonable one for most situations. Yours, however, may be such that Design Intuition is drawing them either too close or too far from their associated object. This slider lets you alter this distance.
